Job Summary
Varsity Boys Wrestling Head Coach leads the school’s wrestling program, overseeing all athletic program duties, coaching and developing athletes, and mentoring assistant coaches. Responsible for teaching fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to athletes, promoting good sportsmanship and character, coordinating staff and clinics, staying current with coaching methods, and ensuring program compliance with school and league policies. Duties include staff supervision, program organization, staff development, scheduling, budgeting collaboration with the athletic director, and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and the community. The role requires overseeing safety, equipment, and administrative tasks, plus promoting the sport within and outside the school.
Required Qualifications
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports).
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and the ability to examine new theories and procedures relevant to coaching.
- Must serve as a positive role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.
- Supervises and coordinates a staff of high school and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and principal.
