Varsity Assistant Cross Country Coach

Job Summary
Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training while fostering moral values, strong work ethic, and teamwork. Supervise all practices, games, team trips, locker rooms, and athletic facilities. Coordinate with the Varsity Head Coach on uniform and equipment maintenance, inventory, and weekly communication plans for parents and faculty. Update the Head Coach frequently on season issues, concerns, and highlights. Adhere to Student Protection Policy procedures and school athletic department policies. Work evenings, weekends, and during school holiday closures as a part-time temporary position for the sport season, including pre-season requirements. Serve as a Christian role model in an environment involving varied challenges and extended periods of standing or desk work.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written).
- Ability to instruct and model desirable skills and attitude.
- Ability to remain productive and maintain control under stress.
- Ability to maintain a clear focus on a positive student athlete experience.
- Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and during school holiday closures.
- Part time temporary position for sport season with some pre season requirements.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.
- Preferred coaching experience in assigned sport.
- CPR certified.
- Serve as a Christian role model.
