Job Summary
Accessories Designer at Vans within the Global Apparel & Accessories team, driving design direction and execution across regions. Partners with Merchandising and Development to move ideas from concept through pre-production, delivering innovative, trend-right products. Manages market research, seasonal inspiration boards, tech pack creation, material selection, color details, and styling. Creates computer designs, sketches, graphics, print artwork, colorways, and storyboards; leads presentations at line reviews and product launches; oversees fittings and prototype reviews with developers and merchandisers; ensures designs meet aesthetic, commercially viable quality, and calendar deadlines. Requires 3-5 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent experience; proficiency in Adobe Suite; knowledge of 3D and Generative AI is a plus; strong sense of style and color; ability to collaborate across teams and translate concepts into production-ready products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent experience in accessories or apparel
- 3-5 years of experience in accessories or apparel design
- Expert knowledge of the Adobe Suite
- Experience creating tech packs, market research, and seasonal inspiration boards
- Ability to lead line reviews and product launches; oversee fittings and ensure alignment with margin targets and quality standards
- Strong presentation, listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage design work with business requests
- Understanding of manufacturing processes from design to production
