Job Summary
As an Assistant Store Manager at Vans, lead, develop, and motivate Brand Advocates to deliver best-in-class customer experiences aligned with our brand values; partner with the Store Manager to drive profitability through excellence in customer engagement, merchandising, operations, and community connection; supervise store operations, assist with opening/closing, floor coverage, and task delegation; support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training; ensure policy and operational standards are met while controlling expenses and shrink; maintain visual merchandising standards and timely product replenishment; foster an inclusive, high-performing retail environment and develop the team to exceed sales and productivity goals.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years retail or store leadership experience
- Foundational skills in coaching, motivating, and building high-performing teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, squatting, climbing ladders, and lifting light to moderate weight
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
