Job Summary

Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals in behavioral health services, drawing from your own lived experience to empower and connect with individuals navigating mental health or substance use challenges. Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care, facilitate peer-led groups and educational sessions, and advocate for the rights and preferences of individuals served. Maintain documentation of activities and ensure confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Must be able to travel to nursing facilities; requires empathy, active listening, boundaries, cultural competence, and proficiency with EHR systems (AthenaOne).

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a peer support specialist training program
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist is required
