Job Summary
Deliver and pick up instructional materials, media resources, and agency mail for schools and libraries across the region while maintaining assigned route schedules up to 100 miles per trip. Manage vehicle care including refueling, fluid monitoring, tire checks, and interior/exterior cleaning. Represent the Agency with a professional demeanor, answer routine questions along the route, and relay complex inquiries to supervisors. Complete accurate logs for deliveries and maintenance in accordance with Agency policies. Work part-time Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM with off days in July. Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform duties as assigned within the Media Center when schedules permit.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Iowa driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with Agency staff, school personnel, students, and community members
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate delivery equipment and vehicle controls
- Capacity for continuous visual, hearing, and verbal communication
- Ability to drive long distances (up to 100 miles per route) between assigned sites
