Job Summary
Deliver and pick up instructional materials, media resources, and agency mail for participating schools and libraries while maintaining assigned route schedules. Manage vehicle care and maintenance, including refueling, servicing, and keeping the van clean, while completing accurate delivery and maintenance logs. Represent the Agency professionally by answering routine questions and relaying complex inquiries to supervisors. Work part-time Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM with 9-hour shifts, off in July, driving up to 100 miles per route. Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform additional duties as assigned within the Media Center when schedules permit.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Iowa driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with Agency staff, school personnel, students, and community members
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate delivery equipment and vehicle controls
- Capacity for continuous visual, hearing, and verbal communication
- Ability to drive long distances (up to 100 miles per route) between assigned sites
