Job Summary
Drive and transport students safely between residences and schools and during field trips; perform pre-trip safety inspections of the school bus; maintain accurate records of student counts and special needs for reporting; complete forms and logs related to disciplinary issues, mileage, routes, and other operational data; safeguard confidentiality of student information within the Transportation department; comply with medical, DPS fingerprint, and background checks; participate in required training; respond to occasional physical demands and environmental conditions encountered while operating a school bus.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of valid Arizona Driver’s License in good standing
- Ability to pass medical exam and DPS required School Bus Driver Physical Performance test
- Must pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and return to duty drug and alcohol tests
- Training available for qualified applicants
- CPR & 1st Aid Certification or ability to obtain certification
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
- Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards
