Job Summary
Valve Technician responsible for installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of railcar valve systems to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years of hands-on railcar valve experience, and prior supervisory or lead technician experience. Preferred AAR certification and knowledge of AAR and FRA standards, along with ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail, plus time management and organizational skills. Safety-sensitive role with adherence to zero-tolerance drug and alcohol testing and related procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- AAR certification(s) related to valve repair or inspection preferred
- Mechanical or technical training preferred
- 3–5 years hands-on experience with railcar valve systems required
- Previous supervisory or lead technician experience required
- Experience in railcar manufacturing or certified repair shop environment preferred
