Valve Technician - Control and Isolation Valves

Job Summary

Test and assemble valves by following manufacturers' assembly procedures, work orders, or customer specifications. Document test reports and repair work, then clean corrosive deposits from parts using solvents, wire brushes, or sandblasting. Paint valve fittings and fasten components with bolts, screws, or rivets while adjusting defective parts. Position and align valve parts on workbenches or machines, then inspect and verify assembled units for conformance to standards. Assist in setting up field test equipment, label products, and report defective materials to supervisors. Maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures throughout the facility. Requires 5 to 8 years of experience with valve assembly, repair, and testing.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 to 8 years of experience
  • specific experience with valve and/or other process instrumentation equipment assembly
  • Repair, testing, calibration experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Motor Operated Valves (MOV)
  • Prior manual machine operating experience
  • Mechanical and Electrical experience
  • Good computer skills
