Job Summary
Setup equipment and tools, read and follow process information, and operate machinery at each station on the sand mold assembly line. Kit and assemble mold making components, create sand molds by directing sand from a mixer into pattern boxes, and prepare molds by sanding, painting, and assembling components. Coordinate the removal of sand molds from the line and perform housekeeping and cleanup tasks. Engage in continuous improvement efforts while working in a team environment. This role involves setup, operation, assembly, and maintenance duties on a paced foundry line.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and follow process instructions
- Use basic hand tools and lifting devices like a hoist or crane
- Ability to learn multiple roles and skills
- Basic math skills and basic measurement skills
- Ability to work in team environment
- Operation of a large material handling forklift truck
- Positive team orientation
- Physical ability to lift up to 70lbs
- Ability to see details at a close range
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Good hand and finger dexterity
- Ability to bend, twist, reach and walk
- Ability to work in an environment with regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels
- Ability to work in an environment with dust particles
- Ability to work in an environment with weather changes
- Ability to use a respirator
