Value Analysis Coordinator - FT - Day Shift

Job Summary

Coordinate clinical product purchases, standardization initiatives, and value analysis teams at Erie County Medical Center Corporation. Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to establish cost-effective purchasing agreements for services, supplies, and equipment. Utilize group purchasing organizations and regional alliances to identify supply chain savings, clinical improvements, and patient safety initiatives. Arrange vendor presentations and product trials, reporting results to participate in product selections. Assist in developing value analysis policies and procedures related to medical protocols and product utilization. Participate in bid and request for proposal processes for clinical products and services. Serve as a liaison to vendors regarding new technology, price changes, and contracts. Compile data and prepare reports on purchase history, contract status, and cost savings analysis. Organize meetings, trainings, and committees as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 60 semester credit hours
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma
  • One (1) year of professional materials management experience in a healthcare setting
  • One (1) year of paraprofessional materials management experience in a healthcare setting
  • One (1) year of supervisory supply, processing and distribution (SPD) experience in a healthcare setting
  • Three (3) years of professional materials management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Three (3) years of paraprofessional materials management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Three (3) years of supervisory supply, processing and distribution (SPD) experience in a healthcare setting
  • Five (5) years of professional materials management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Five (5) years of paraprofessional materials management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Five (5) years of supervisory supply, processing and distribution (SPD) experience in a healthcare setting
  • Good knowledge of the principles, practices, equipment and terminology associated with materials management, product standardization and value analysis in a healthcare setting
  • Good knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and accreditation standards as they relate to the Great Lakes Health System, joint purchasing with affiliated organizations and materials management in a healthcare setting
  • Good knowledge of GPOs, RFPs and purchasing contracts relevant to ECMCC, Great Lakes Health System and affiliated organizations
  • Good knowledge of information sources for staying current on industry news and trends
  • Working knowledge of clinical practices, patient safety initiatives and clinical procedures relevant to ECMCC
  • Ability to coordinate vendor presentations and product trials for onsite performance at ECMCC
  • Ability to compile relevant data and information
  • Ability to prepare and present detailed reports
  • Ability to supervise lower-level employees
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse constituency
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to utilize a variety of electronic software applications
  • Sound professional judgment
  • Valid driver's license
