Validation Specialist (Radiation Therapy) ** Onsite - Palo Alto**

Validation Specialist in Radiation Therapy, onsite in Palo Alto, CA, with some remote/hybrid allowance. Join Varian Medical Systems to ensure that validated medical devices are safe, effective, and meet user needs. You will represent clinical users and patients from the radiation therapist/medical dosimetrist perspective, identifying workflow bottlenecks and critical features that may affect treatment quality. Responsibilities include ensuring complete validation, evaluating clinical practices and workflows, defining validation strategies, developing and executing validation plans, and supporting validation of Oncology Information Systems, Treatment Planning Management Systems, and Treatment Delivery and Imaging Systems. Collaborate with Product Management, User Experience, and Design Engineering to define new product requirements, provide feedback for improvements, and resolve usability and scope issues. Must work as part of a global development team and be able to travel 5-25% to fulfill validation efforts. Required education/experience include current Radiation Therapist certification/registration plus five years of clinical Radiation Oncology experience, or equivalent combinations with a B.A./B.S. degree plus five years of clinical experience and/or Clinical Applications Specialist experience using Varian products. Knowledge of radiation therapy workflows (simulation, imaging, treatment delivery using IMRT/VMAT), physics safety practices, and familiarity with Varian products (ARIA, RPM, RGSC, IDENTIFY, Eclipse) is expected.
