Job Summary

Validation Engineer responsible for developing validation test plans and timing schedules to support automotive validation programs. Works on components across analog, digital, optical, environmental (ENV), and EMC applications, with emphasis on ADAS and power products. Key duties include requirements analysis, test plan development (DVP&Rs), cost estimation and quoting, coordinating with external labs, on-site validation; creating and maintaining test procedures, data analysis reports, and supporting test equipment setup and validation activities. Collaborates with Validation Tools Engineers, design teams, and suppliers; manages multiple projects, reviews customer requirements, drafts product verification plans, and ensures timely project completion. Requires strong problem-solving, project-management, and communication skills, plus hands-on testing experience with lab equipment and data analysis, and knowledge of relevant automotive validation standards (e.g., GMW3172, CS-1189, CETP 00.00-E-412). Willingness to travel for on-site lab support and validation activities; expected to lead investigations (root cause analyses) and implement corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in an engineering automotive environment
  • Technical understanding of environmental level testing (temperature, vibration, humidity, enclosure) and Electrical/EMC testing
  • Experience creating Validation Test Plans and knowledge of Validation customer requirements (e.g., GMW3172, CS-1189, CETP 00.00-E-412)
  • Proficiency with test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Video Scope) and data analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing program needs
  • Experience with DFMEA and validation documentation (DVP&R, test plans, reports)
