Job Summary
Contribute to the development, validation, and optimization of SSD product lines by detecting test failures, performing triage, and creating defect reports for timely resolution. Collaborate with Firmware Engineers to optimize NVMe features on complex embedded multi-core architectures while participating in peer code reviews and defect management. Use diagnostics and debugging tools to analyze reported design bugs, fix issues, and report sightings to domain leads. Provide clear status updates on development and test progress during monthly and quarterly meetings with client representatives. This hybrid role requires 3 days on-site and 2 days remote in South Vancouver, BC, for a Junior Engineer with 1-3 years of C/C++ and Python experience.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of programming experience in C/C++, and Python (this skill is a must as all 3 languages are used in this role)
- Experience with git or similar source control repository systems
- Understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science Degree or related concentration, equivalent and/or combination of education and work experience
- An excellent communicator in written and spoken English - you feel comfortable presenting your ideas to others
- Quality-focused and detail-oriented - you pay attention to details and can't stand sloppy work
- You believe that everything can be done, a can-do attitude
- You are a problem solver
- You're driven and do not need to be micromanaged; you take initiative and don't wait around for problems or quality concerns to surface before brainstorming a fix
- You like to learn. You can independently find online resources to learn things you don't know
- Open to receiving feedback
- This is a hybrid position; 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
