Job Summary
Oversee daily valet operations at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center to ensure safe, efficient, and courteous vehicle parking and retrieval for military veteran patients. Direct and support valet attendants, schedule shifts to meet contracted hours, and enforce safety standards and operational procedures. Assist in hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions while maintaining accurate records of keys, tickets, and logs. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, resolve concerns promptly, and closely inspect vehicles for damage. Work Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 5:00pm with a total hourly wage of $21.00, including fringe benefits. Communicate regularly with management regarding staffing and operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years management experience
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week M-F
- Technical capabilities and basic computer knowledge
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions
- Possess and maintain a valid state issued driver license
- Must pass and maintain a criminal background check and have a clean motor vehicle record
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Regularly work outdoors in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat and cold
- Strong customer service skill and be able to respond calmly and professionally when handling conflict
- Consistent attendance and reliability is a requirement
- Ability to understand and speak basic English in order to communicate with valet customers and co-workers
- Regularly stand for long periods (6-8 hours)
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others
