Job Summary
Conduct valet services by parking and retrieving guest vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously, and assist guests with luggage delivery and pick-up during arrival and departure. Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet using their last names and the salutation of the day, while maintaining a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor. Provide directions, handle taxi and reservation inquiries, and deliver messages or amenities as requested. Issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys. Consistently complete and maintain ticket information including key tags, guest folios, damage surveys, and claim check receipts. Perform parallel parking and operate a manual transmission, which is highly desirable. Work an open availability schedule at Metro Center Marriott with a base pay of $15 per hour plus tips.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must hold a valid driver's license for the state you are applying to work, or within a commutable distance from the state you are applying to work
- One (1) month related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
- Ability to read and write standard English language
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
- Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- Ability to operate a manual transmission
- Travel of up to 5% may be required
