Job Summary
Assist with mine surveying activities, data collection, and field work while gaining practical experience using surveying equipment, software, and mine planning systems. Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and operational teams to support safe and efficient mining operations, contributing to projects that enhance operational performance and continuous improvement. Develop technical capabilities in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving through mentorship from experienced surveyors and exposure to modern mining technologies. This 12-week site-based program runs from November 2026 to February 2027 at Narrabri Mine, providing structured development, regular feedback, and insight into graduate pathways with Whitehaven Coal.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Surveying, Spatial Science, Geospatial Engineering or a related discipline
- A genuine interest in the mining and resources industry
- A strong commitment to safety, integrity and continuous improvement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
