Job Summary
Assist with safety inspections, audits, and workplace observations while supporting health, safety, and risk management initiatives across the site. Participate in incident investigations to develop corrective actions and contribute to hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety reporting processes. Collaborate with operational teams to promote safe work practices and gain exposure to legislative compliance and safety management systems. Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments while developing skills in communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem solving. This 12-week paid program runs November 2026 through February 2027 at Maules Creek near Gunnedah, with camp accommodation provided and mentoring from experienced safety professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline
- A genuine interest in workplace health and safety within the mining and resources industry
- A strong commitment to safety, integrity and continuous improvement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
