Job Summary
Special Education Teacher at Wilson Memorial High School; teaches students with disabilities in secondary grades and serves as an IEP case manager. Responsibilities include instructing students with lectures and audiovisual aids, preparing course objectives and outlines, differentiating instruction to accommodate diverse learners, administering tests and reporting results, maintaining attendance and discipline, meeting with parents, participating in faculty meetings and professional development, sponsoring activities, assisting students in course selection, and counseling on academic problems. Requires Bachelor's degree and active Virginia teaching license with appropriate endorsement; exempt status. Additional duties include effective use of instructional time, safe environment maintenance, and collaboration with Principal and school staff for records and compliance.
