Job Summary
Chief Technical Officer (Permanent) to provide leadership in undergraduate laboratory instruction and the operation of physics/engineering labs. Responsibilities include leading development of undergraduate laboratory sessions, overseeing inventories and procurement of lab equipment and administration of facilities, managing vacuum systems and gas-handling infrastructure for safe, reliable operation, enabling automated control and real-time data acquisition through equipment-computer integration, incorporating educational technologies into undergraduate experiments, providing technical support for maintenance of key teaching and research labs, and contributing to undergraduate teaching activities in the department.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Physics or Engineering-related field
- Minimum of two years’ experience in management of undergraduate physics/engineering laboratories
- Minimum of two years’ experience in undergraduate laboratory teaching
- Demonstrated expertise in vacuum and electronic systems, and equipment–computer interfacing platforms
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and gas systems
- Excellent organizational skills
