Job Summary
Operate Hydrovac trucks and equipment to complete hydro excavation projects, including potholing, trenching, and exposing underground utilities. Supervise Hydrovac laborers to ensure skill development while performing pre- and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance. Set up grounding and bonding procedures, complete all required paperwork within set timelines, and safely excavate, load, or break materials. Requires one year of construction experience, a valid CDL, and proficiency in heavy equipment operation. Candidates must pass an MVR check, DOT physical, and drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- CDL license
- Possession of a valid State Driver's License
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License within two weeks of employment
- Pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR check)
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of basic underground utilities
- Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
- Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Mapping and Print Reading
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Mechanical ability
- Knowledge of equipment and heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair
