Job Summary
Operate Hydrovac trucks and heavy equipment to excavate, load, dig, or break materials for hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, pole holes, and trench work. Supervise Hydrovac Laborers to ensure skill development while setting up grounding and bonding procedures. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, routine maintenance, and complete all required paperwork within set timelines. Possess a valid CDL license, one year of construction experience, and mechanical aptitude. Work in confined spaces with repetitive lifting of piping connections.
Required Qualifications
- CDL license
- Possession of a valid State Driver's License
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License within two weeks of employment
- Pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR check)
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training
- One (1+) plus years experience working in construction
- Knowledge of basic underground utilities
- Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
- Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Mapping and Print Reading
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Mechanical ability
- Knowledge of equipment and heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair
