Job Summary
Uzbek Linguist role supporting Language Support Services for YSG/TU across current and future requirements. Responsibilities include interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction in classroom or virtual settings. Open evergreen requisition intended to support multiple current and future requirements; candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles across the YSG/TU portfolio as opportunities arise. Must meet CAT I/II/III ILR English proficiency levels; CAT II/III may require security clearances (SECRET/TS/SCI) per task order. Location options include Remote work and CONUS-based sites; some travel may be required. Travel is possible; locations include Remote Operations Support in Huntsville, AL and Remote TU Support at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Candidates should possess idiomatic translation ability, ability to work under high pressure, and be able to function as part of a professional team. Also required are fluency in English and the foreign language, preservation of tone and register, and ability to conduct translation and interpretation with accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- ILR English proficiency levels (CAT I, CAT II, CAT III)
- Must be U.S. citizen, Local National (LN), Third Country National (TCN), or uncleared U.S. Citizen for CAT I; security vetting as required for CAT I/II/III
- CAT II requires SECRET clearance or interim access where applicable
- CAT III requires TOP SECRET with SCI access or interim TS clearance
- Willingness to live and work in harsh environments and temporary facilities
- Ability to translate/interprete/furnish instruction with idiomatic accuracy in English and foreign language
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Consecutive translation and interpretation
- Familiarity with local culture and customs
- Team-oriented work in high-pressure environments
