Job Summary
UXO Technician I responsible for field duties including surface sweeps, subsurface clearances, UXO avoidance, and supporting geophysical/UXO surveys. Proficient with current metal detectors; prepare firing systems for demilitarization; transport UXO and demilitarization materials; assist in inspection of MPPEH for explosive hazards; construct UXO-related protective works. Requires good physical health, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to travel extensively (up to 100%). Desirable knowledge of Geonics EM61-MK2, GPS/PDA, hazmat CDL, MS Excel/Project/PowerPoint; may require BA/BS. Office is remote with travel to project sites; field tasks may involve harsh environments and long hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Effective communication with clients, regulators, project team, and management
- 0-3 years of commercial UXO experience
- Graduate of a formal course of instruction appropriate to UXO Technician level
- Must be able to perform all functions enumerated for UXO Sweep Personnel and UXO Technician
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in rugged, adverse environments
