Job Summary
Develop and implement Munitions of Explosive Concern (MEC) sections of the Quality Control Program Plan for all explosive-related operations. Conduct and document quality control audits of explosive operations to ensure compliance with established procedures. Identify, document, report, and ensure completion of all corrective actions required for full compliance. Perform responsibilities of UXO Sweep Personnel and UXO Technicians I, II, and III, including operating detection and geophysical sensing equipment to locate unexploded ordnance. Requires high school diploma, eight years of munitions response experience, formal UXO training, and strong deductive reasoning and problem sensitivity.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- 8 years experience in all phases of munitions response actions or range clearance activities
- experience in the transportation, handling and storage of munitions and commercial explosives
- Graduate of formal UXO training course of instruction
- Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) assistant courses required
- graduate of a military EOD school of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany or Australia
- Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
- Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events — Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events
- Operate Equipment – Utilizing detection equipment and geophysical sensing equipment to locate UXOs
- transport non-hazardous materials using a variety of types of equipment and vehicles
- Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
