Job Summary
Lead tactical and innovation UX initiatives for Omnipod's mobile applications on Android and iOS within an agile environment. Define safe, effective, and delightful user experiences by collaborating with Marketing, Technical Product Marketing, Systems, and Clinical teams to ensure designs meet FDA guidelines while delighting patients, caregivers, and providers. Work with User Research and Human Factors to iteratively test concepts, presenting design visions to executive leadership and customers using whiteboard sketches, storyboards, and prototypes. Drive innovation in UX processes and design language standards, mentor junior staff, and evangelize the role of UX across the organization. This role supports the global Omnipod product platform, which provides automated insulin delivery to people with diabetes, requiring on-site work from Insulet offices in Boston, San Diego, or Tijuana.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Master's (Psychology, Computer Science, HCI, Industrial Engineering, Interaction Design, Design, Human Factors or equivalent)
- 3+ years of relevant experience in UX and product design
- Expert knowledge in Industry standard UX/Dev tools- Invision/Balsamic/Azure, Zeplin, Creative Cloud, Framer, Sketch, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc
- Fluent in usability standards and design heuristics and responsive design techniques
- Expert knowledge of Android and iOS UI guidelines and platforms
- Strong portfolio required with strong storytelling and presentation skills
- 3+ years of experience working in an agile development environment with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Helix, Aha!
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally, specifically in areas of product development working closely with clinical partners such as Human Factors
- Strong technical hardware and software knowledge
- Experience and demonstrated success in execution of mobile applications UX in either consumer or medical devices
- Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams on high-visibility initiatives in a distributed environment-Boston, San Diego and Tijuana
- Thorough knowledge of the diabetes disease state
- Ongoing US travel as needed (at least once per quarter)
- This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from an Insulet office
Desired Qualifications
- Ideally with a focus on developing and implementing customer centric products, with multiple touchpoints (Product, mobile, web) globally
- Preference for experience working on medical devices or consumer wearables
- Working knowledge of User Research tools and methodologies and ability to work with researchers to drive research goals and objectives to drive user centered design approach
- Ability to prototype when necessary preferred
