Job Summary
Lead primary financial reporting authority for UW Medicine; oversee preparation, consolidation, and review of internal, external and consolidated financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, yearly) for management, finance committees, and boards; deliver technical accounting research and position papers, advise on accounting treatment and reporting guidelines; support adoption of new accounting standards; manage UW Medicine Select Units consolidation/eliminations and related analyses; coordinate with University consolidation requirements; support ad hoc reporting; oversee accounting for leases under GASB 87 and subscription-based IT arrangements under GASB 96 (SBITA) and coordinate with ITS and Real Estate; assist with pension and post-retirement obligations; provide support for other month-end accounting entries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 5+ years of financial reporting and accounting experience
- In depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience researching technical accounting issues
- Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement
