Job Summary
Conduct skilled and semi-skilled work on the construction, maintenance, repair, and improvement of city streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, parks, and stormwater infrastructure. Operate light and medium construction equipment while excavating trenches, installing storm drainage pipes, and repairing potholes and asphalt surfaces. Perform storm sewer inspections using specialized camera equipment and assist with emergency response activities for flooding, storm damage, and roadway hazards. Serve as a lead worker to provide guidance and training to less experienced employees when assigned. Maintain proper grades and elevations while working outdoors in all weather conditions and complying with strict safety protocols for trench boxes and barricades. Respond to after-hours call-outs and severe weather events as operational needs require.
