Job Summary
Utility Worker supports campus operations by performing custodial, maintenance, and general labor duties to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include routine cleaning (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing restrooms and common areas), waste removal and recycling following university policies, setup and breakdown for campus events (moving furniture and equipment), basic maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and reporting repairs, outdoor area upkeep, safe operation of cleaning equipment, adherence to safety guidelines, and providing excellent customer service to the campus community.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in custodial, maintenance, or general labor roles is a plus
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
