Job Summary
Meter Installation Technician responsible for removing, installing, testing meters (water/utility), and associated tasks within AMI infrastructure; duties include meter replacement, testing, data entry, customer communication, and site restoration; requires mechanical aptitude, outdoor work, safety compliance, and ability to operate various tools and equipment; training provided; benefits after probation; Monday–Friday schedule; production-based incentives.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Must have and maintain proof of vehicle insurance.
- Must pass drug screening and background check.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have mechanical aptitude.
- Must be okay with heat, dirt, small spaces, etc.
- Must lift to 25 lbs., bend and stoop repetitively, kneel, and work outdoors in all weather conditions and environments.
- Basic tools required.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Have clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work all required shifts.
- Achieving standards of safety, productivity, and quality of work.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Should have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Maintain and follow required attire and grooming standards.
- Previous water meter installation, utility, construction, pipefitting, or field service experience is preferred but not required.
