Job Summary
Maintain and repair waterlines, valves, fire hydrants, meters, and wastewater mains while installing and changing equipment as directed. Operate small equipment such as jack hammers, concrete saws, and chain saws, and perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and repair of distribution equipment, vehicles, and buildings. Safeguard assigned tools and electronics, keep records of work performed, and restock supplies on the service vehicle. Locate and mark water mains, and function on a rotating on-call basis for emergency response while remaining in contact via radio at all times. Obtain required licenses including a Class A CDL and backflow testing certification within the first year of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- State of Florida driver's license
- ability to obtain Class A CDL with tanker and air brakes endorsements within first year of employment
- State of Florida Distribution Level IV License
- Backflow testing and repair certificate
- Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification
