Job Summary
Support land surveyors and utility locating technicians by identifying and mapping underground utilities at renewable energy sites. Operation of utility locating equipment to identify and mark utilities. Use Trimble survey systems for measuring and mapping precise locations of utilities and survey points. Expect extensive fieldwork with walking up to 10 miles per day and travel 3-4 weeks minimum at a time, plus a per diem. Maintain and transport surveying and locating equipment to and from worksites, record and document survey data and utility locations, and follow safety protocols across varied terrains. Must have a Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving history.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving history
- Strong aptitude for computers, software, and learning new electronic equipment
- Familiarity with utility locating techniques and land surveying processes
- Experience with RD utility locating and Trimble survey equipment is preferred
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and walk significant distances daily
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
- Willingness to travel and adapt to various job site conditions and challenges
