Job Summary
Utility Staff assists in dish and pot washing, maintains clean and safe kitchen and dining areas, and helps with ordering and storage of food and non-food items. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining the pot/dish washing area, cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and surfaces, disposing of trash, assisting in food preparation as directed by a supervisor, and reporting equipment malfunctions. The role emphasizes safety, ownership of personal and resident safety, adherence to cleaning schedules, and participation in required courses and life-enrichment activities as applicable to a senior-care environment. Requires high school education and permits a Florida Level 2 background screening; knowledge of state food-handling regulations and OSHA/fire safety procedures is preferred. Requires ability to work in a safe, alert manner and maintain a secure environment for residents.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school education
- Experience in cooking for large groups a plus
- Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulations preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards and fire and safety procedures preferred
- Knowledge of fire and safety procedures
