Utility Services Technician III

Job Summary
Locate underground utilities such as water, gas, power, fiber optic, and telephone using industry-specific equipment, and verify existing utilities at project sites. Identify utility sizes, materials, and types while collecting existing conditions information for assessment. Operate and maintain a vacuum excavation truck within a two-to-four man crew. Assist with land survey work for topographic map creation and implement new technologies and methods. Work primarily in the field involving long-term standing, frequent walking, and rough terrain for 10-12 hour days on occasion. Weekend, overtime, and overnight travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft office software; Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to type
- 1-3 years of utility designation experience
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment
- Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time)
- Minimum education requirement of High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain with sustained standing or walking for 10-12 hour work days on occasion
- Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk
- Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Familiar of IOS operating system, a plus
- Familiar with AutoCAD and Microstation, a plus
- Familiarity with iPad or tablet, a plus
