Job Summary
Administer and promote the Authority's safety program by implementing employee safety awareness, conducting first-aid and defensive driving training, and investigating injuries to prepare corrective reports. Conduct announced and unannounced audits of work areas, respond to emergencies 24/7 by summoning authorities and protecting property, and supply personal protective equipment. Analyze audit findings to recommend equipment and training changes, coordinate purchasing and storage of safety gear, and develop emergency procedures and hazardous material handling plans. Maintain environmental records, distribute educational materials, and participate in safety committee meetings. Notifies management immediately of all incidents and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Valid Driver's License (subject to motor vehicle review)
- 3 years safety training or electrical field experience
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional preferred
- Certified Utility Safety Professional preferred
