Utility Real Estate Specialist

Job Summary

Negotiate and acquire substation property, transmission easements, and land rights to support the Capital Improvement Plan while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of real estate laws, zoning, and asset management. Interpret surveys, site plans, and GIS mapping to research properties, perform title research, and prepare acquisition documents and purchase agreements. Coordinate with property owners, legal counsel, and city councils for meetings and events, resolve encroachment concerns, and contribute to due diligence and budget development. Prioritize work independently, prepare status reports, and maintain secure records of real estate assets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Two years of experience working in a utility or energy sector environment including property negotiations, acquisitions, asset/property management, dispositions, eminent domain/condemnations, Uniform Act, right-of-way experience, appraisals, paralegal work, and/or title examination
  • Valid Driver's License

Desired Qualifications

  • Right of Way Agent or Right of Way Professional Certification preferred
  • Project Management coursework and/or certification preferred
