Utility Plant Operator I

Job Summary
Operate gas/oil-fired boilers and auxiliary equipment (fans, valves, desuperheaters); conduct rounds, document readings, and report anomalies; operate water plant equipment, turbine generators, cooling systems, and condensate return systems; assist maintenance and ensure general plant cleanliness. Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures and maintain safety compliance. Work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation. Must have a high school diploma or GED and two years of industrial plant experience or a related two-year program; knowledge of power plant equipment, OSHA regulations, and basic math; able to read blueprints and operating manuals; strong communication and teamwork skills; physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment. Immigration sponsorship is not available; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years experience in an industrial plant, process plant or power plant, operating boilers, pumps, fans, conveyors, or other similar equipment, or Graduation from a two-year industrial technology program.
