Job Summary
Water-treatment-focused journey-level electrical technician responsible for maintenance and repair of sophisticated electrical equipment, controls and systems across OCWA facilities. Core duties include diagnosing faults, servicing electrical distribution systems, performing scheduled maintenance, lock-out/tag-out of medium/high voltage equipment, material estimations and inventory management, conducting inspections, responding to alarm situations, and providing after-hours support on a rotating schedule. Must read and interpret plans/schematics, possess knowledge of electrical codes and regulations, and maintain safety and process-control practices. Required Qualifications
- Ontario Electrician’s Certificate of Qualification (309A)
- Completion of an approved apprentice program through the Ontario College of Trades (8160 hours on-the-job + 840 hours in-school)
- Registered in good standing as a journeyperson with the College of Trades
- Willingness to obtain Operator-in-Training (OIT) as per applicable regulations
- Ability to travel, overtime, and be on-call on rotating schedule
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of OHSA Act, electrical/electronic instrumentation and control theory, and reading schematics
