Utility Person - Newton

Utility Person is an entry level position that provides relief for Operations, Coal Yard, and Storeroom in addition to assisting in Maintenance activities. The role involves operating power plant equipment, material handling, cleaning, painting, maintenance of plant equipment, buildings and grounds, heavy lifting, manual labor, digging, stores department work, and working in varied environments. It requires a High School diploma or equivalent, ability to work rotating shifts (0700-1500, 1500-2300, 2300-0700, 0700-1900, 1900-0700), willingness to overtime, ability to climb ladders and handle heavy loads, and the capacity to work in heights, enclosed spaces, and near or above water. Training for plant Fire Brigade, Haz-Woper, and Emergency Response, plus compliance with Vistra's Respiratory Protection Program, are required. A POSS/MASS test must be passed. Previous power plant or shift-work experience and mechanical/process abilities are preferred. The role is team-based and requires flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and assignments.
