Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment including articulated trucks, dozers, excavators, and loaders to move earth, rock, and gravel on civil construction sites under Team Lead direction. Conduct pre- and post-operational checks, maintain equipment cleanliness, perform basic troubleshooting, and advise supervisors of required repairs. Accept instructions to adjust work strategies for changing conditions and participate in toolbox meetings to suggest safety improvements. Maintain a safe disposition while complying with all client policies and procedures. This safety-sensitive role requires pre-employment testing, a valid Class 5 license, and 2+ years of experience in civil construction or utility environments. Shifts are 6 on, 6 off (12-hour rotations) located north of Fort McMurray on the Syncrude Aurora site.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Retention of a valid class five (5) driver's license
- Clean three (3) year drivers abstract
- At least 2+ years of verifiable experience in an equipment operating role in a Civil Construction, Earthworks, or Utility environment
- Dozer experience
- CSO or BSO or OSSA
- Ability to speak, write and read English
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- 6 on, 6 off (3 days, 3 nights, 6 off- 12 hr shift)
