Job Summary
Operate production units, trains, utility cars, and mobile equipment including dozers, loaders, and forklifts to maximize productivity while adhering to safety, health, and quality requirements. Monitor oven performance, assist with burner operations, and perform light equipment maintenance alongside minor troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and inspections. Execute general housekeeping duties such as cleaning, wash downs, and spillage removal from walkways and conveyor belts. Complete all tasks in accordance with work orders and policies, ensuring cost and product quality standards are met. Requires experience with compressed air, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in heavy industrial plants, plus willingness to work a float schedule, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Good communication and computer skills
- Experience in heavy industrial plant using compressed air, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Be willing to work float schedule, overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
- Good safety and attendance records in previous jobs held
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperature extremes
- Good vision and manual dexterity
- Understand the importance of the position with regard to cost and product quality
