Job Summary
Install, repair, and maintain water distribution and sewage collection systems, including water mains, fire hydrants, sewer lines, and meters. Operate construction equipment such as backhoes, trenching machines, and vacuum/water jet combinations while inspecting and testing portable pumps and generators. Remove and install meters, manage traffic barricades, and perform concrete pouring and finishing tasks. Respond to emergency call-outs on weekends and holidays, report mechanical problems, and maintain routine logs and records. Requires a valid Texas Driver's License and Class B CDL, with availability for severe weather conditions and physical tasks up to 80 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Possession of a valid Class 'B' CDL or ability to obtain in six months
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of utility related construction or maintenance experience
- Ability to obtain a valid Class 'B' CDL within six months
