Utility Mechanic

Job Summary
Utility Mechanic—Perform maintenance and servicing of small gas, diesel, and electric powered hand tools; adhere to OSHA/MSHA and company safety policies; maintain hour-meter records and service schedules; keep tools in good working order; oversee engine overhaul of small gas/diesel engines; report issues to supervisor; train on use and maintenance of new tools; perform site cleanup and maintain records of parts and tools; opportunities for additional training and career growth within the Structures Division.
Required Qualifications
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- One year of relevant utility construction experience
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Experienced in underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and structures
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
