Job Summary
Perform all service and maintenance of small gas, diesel, and electric powered hand tools while adhering to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policies. Overhaul small gas and diesel engines, keep records of hour meter readings, and maintain tools in good working order. Report visual inspection problems, notify supervisors of inoperable equipment, and train on new tool usage. Keep a check and balance on parts and tools, maintain work site cleanliness, and report oil spills. Reports to the small tools superintendent. Requires one year of relevant utility construction experience and familiarity with underground utilities.
Required Qualifications
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- One year of relevant utility construction experience
- Experienced in underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and structures
- Three years of related experience and/or training
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
