Job Summary
Locate underground utilities for telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer systems by thoroughly searching designated areas, accurately marking locations, completing documentation, and photographing each site. Use company-provided vehicles and best-in-class ticket management systems to deliver clear mark-out services for excavators or property owners. Work outdoors in various weather conditions while distinguishing wiring colors and referencing locate tickets, maps, and prints. This daytime, full-time role requires overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call availability including nights and holidays. No prior locating experience is needed, but candidates must have a valid driver's license, pass a drug screen, and be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with technology
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Able to work in a confined space
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
