Job Summary
Conduct daytime, full-time field work to correctly and safely locate underground utilities including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems. Thoroughly search designated areas, accurately mark locations, complete necessary documentation, and photograph each locate using company-provided vehicles and ticket management systems. Work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call rotations dependent on business needs with a 48-hour turnaround time for many locates. No prior locating experience is needed, but candidates must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and pass a drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with technology
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Able to work in a confined space
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
- Must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts (including nights and weekends)
