Job Summary
Conduct daytime, full-time utility locating in the field using a company vehicle to search for underground telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer systems. Accurately mark locations, complete necessary documentation, photograph each locate, and distinguish between color-coded wiring. Thoroughly review locate tickets, maps, and prints to ensure clear and complete mark-out services for excavators or property owners. Work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call rotations including nights and holidays as needed to meet a 48-hour turnaround time. Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with technology
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
