Job Summary
Locate underground utilities including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems by thoroughly searching designated areas, accurately marking locations, completing documentation, and photographing each site. Work independently in the field using a company-provided vehicle and best-in-class ticket management systems to ensure clear mark-out services for excavators or property owners. This daytime, full-time role requires ability to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call rotations including nights and weekends, with a general 48-hour turnaround time on many locates. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, pass a drug screen, and possess a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with technology
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Able to work in a confined space
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
- Must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts (including nights and weekends)
