Job Summary
Respond to utility marking requests via the State One Call System (VA811) on behalf of utility customers, accessing records and plans on an internet-enabled laptop to interpret facility locations. Utilize utility locating equipment to accurately mark the horizontal location of underground facilities and properly document performed marking in the online ticket management system. Interpret records for facilities owned by the utility owner while adhering to company policies and customer regulations. Work independently throughout the day, accessing marking requests sent via the State One Call System.
Required Qualifications

- Able to work outside in all weather
- Familiarity with computers
- Able to navigate a computer file system
- Reading comprehension skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Able to participate in a 24 hour, On-Call rotation
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize work and meet daily deadlines
- Successfully complete our in-house training program
- Able to walk on varying terrain, to include roadside and construction areas
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally to access manholes and valve pits
- Weekend and After Hours work
- Will work independently throughout the day
